23rd ANNUAL FREIHOFER’S COMMUNITY WALK ON
SATURDAY, JUNE 4th

Individuals Needed to Walk

on Behalf of Interfaith Story Circle of the Tri-City Area!

Interfaith Story Circle is presently recruiting volunteers to participate in the 23rd annual Freihofer’s Community Walk slated for Saturday, June 4th, 2011 at 12:30 p.m.

The event, which begins and ends outside the New York State Museum, provides an opportunity for more than 60 regional non-profit organizations to raise funds through walk pledges. Last year's Community Walk netted $43,000 for 64 regional charities.

Many local organizations have come to depend on the Community Walk- a 1.86 mile loop that begins on Madison Avenue and proceeds around the Empire State Plaza and Lincoln Park- as a major fundraiser. This year, the Interfaith Story Circle will participate for the first time!

Funds raised by walkers at this year’s event will be used toward funding the seventh year of the Children at the Well youth interfaith storytelling program, which builds bridges of trust, fun, and understanding in the Capital Region by training local youth of many different religions and cultures in the art of storytelling.

There is no fee for entry in the Freihofer's Community Walk. Walkers are encouraged to register online at http://www.freihofersrun.com/cw_registration.cfm. Be sure you indicate that you are walking for the Interfaith Story Circle- organization # 374. On June 4th, all walkers must check in at the Community Walk registration area located on the Concourse Level of the Empire State Plaza at the bus terminal (in front of the main cafeteria) starting at 10 a.m. T-shirts will be given to the first 1,000 walkers who arrive, and all participants will receive a delicious box of Freihofer’s chocolate chip cookies.

“This year’s Community Walk features a brand new online giving portal (freihofersrun.com/cwportal) for all participating non-profits,” said Event Director George Regan. “The portal is playing an important role helping walk participants streamline their donation collection efforts.”

Free event parking is available at the East Garage located on the corner of Eagle Street and Madison Avenue. The garage can be accessed from I -787 via the Plaza Exit. Follow the signs to East Garage parking. From the Madison Avenue Exit, turn right onto Eagle Street and then enter the garage on the right.

For registration forms and pledge sheets call Paula Weiss (518) 785-7842. For additional information about the Freihofer’s Community Walk, visit freihofersrun.com/community_walk.htm, or call (518) 273 -5552.
